LOCAL 102 SELECTED AS A 2023 EVENING OF HOPE HONOREE
Wednesday, November 1, 2023
Hope, is an aspiration, an expectation for better days. Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly hosted his annual Evening of Hope Gala on Monday, October 30th at the Brownstone in Paterson, NJ. This yearly gathering brought together some of the most prominent people in New Jersey, but more importantly, it was a celebration of those who provide hope to others.
Eight honorees were recognized at the event, three of those represented at the front table that evening hailed from the labor community. Local 102 was proud to be one of them. We were recognized for our members tireless efforts to serve the communities we live in and our organization’s strong commitment and ties to our birthplace of Paterson, NJ.
Special accolades were given to Local 102 Business Representative and Passaic County Building Trades Council President Mark Roche. Senator Pou and Assemblyman Wimberly had high praise for Brother Roche, not just for his work in the office, but for his willingness to constantly be a source of good will to the community of Paterson. Assemblyman Wimberly said this of Mark during a conversation with President Corrigan; Mark is the type of guy that if you tell him we’re doing a coat drive, he takes his jacket off first then proceeds to get 50 more. Thanks for all you do Mark!
President Corrigan receives the Evening of Hope Honoree Award on behalf of Local 102. Presenting the award is Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly.
